About House of Sakina
A calm, faith-rooted space created for women who want depth without overwhelm.
In a world full of noise and constant doing, many women want a place to slow down, learn, and reconnect with what actually matters - without judgement, pressure, or performance.
I wanted somewhere I could reconnect with myself and my faith, engage with Qur’anic reflections, and actually let things settle - sometimes through grounding or creative practices and sometimes while connecting with women who valued the same things.
When I couldn’t find it, I created House of Sakina.
A space shaped by simplicity, sincerity, and the intention to make Islamic knowledge easy to understand, relevant, and grounded in real life.
Why This Space Exists
House of Sakina is guided by three core principles that shape everything we do:
1. Approachable Islamic Knowledge
Clear, practical learning rooted in lived experience — without overwhelm.
2. Real Alignment, Not Performative Growth
Growth that is honest, sustainable, and true — not driven by appearance or perfectionism.
3. Safe, Thoughtful, Judgement-Free Spaces
Warm, calm, women-only environments where you can show up exactly as you are
Our Ethos
Coaching
I wanted to be coached in a way that aligned with Islam, offered practical tools, felt completely judgement-free, and actually helped me rebuild my confidence — so I created a coaching approach that does exactly that.
Events & Experiences
I wanted opportunities to engage with Qur’anic reflections and then let them settle — through conversation, grounding practices, or simple creative activities — while connecting with women on a similar journey.
So I created women-only workshops and mini-retreats built around that experience.
Courses & Workbooks
I wanted learning resources that made Islamic understanding clear, structured, and easy to follow without feeling overwhelmed — so I created courses and workbooks that are simple, approachable, and practical.
Free Resources
I wanted access to simple, useful tools rooted in faith that I could use in my own time, without barriers or complexity - so I created a collection of free resources to support exactly that.
What I wanted… so I created
We host in-person workshops and mini-retreats in London, with openness to facilitating aligned gatherings abroad.
Each experience blends learning, reflection, and gentle creativity in a way that feels grounding and sincere.
How we hold space
“Sakina” refers to the tranquillity and reassurance Allah places in the hearts of believers.
This essence is at the heart of everything we offer - steady, gentle, rooted.
Why ‘Sakina’?
House of Sakina was founded by Ameera, who wanted to create a space where women could learn, reflect, and grow without pressure or perfectionism.
Her work focuses on making faith practical, learning simple, and growth feel steady and attainable.
